Hop-on's US Patent Offers Utility Patent Approval on Open Market
IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HOP-ON, INC. (Pink Sheets:HPNN - News) announced today that it will initiate preliminary open market patent licensing approval for their universal charging technology patent. The essential utility patent required by the market is necessary for the commercialization of wireless handsets and other consumer electronics. (Reference US patent 6,994,592)
While most global telecommunication operators have already incorporated Hop-on's patented technology without licensing approval, the Company believes this licensing system will provide an open market opportunity and grant use based on criteria developed to promote competition, not exclusion. Peter Michaels, President and CEO of Hop-on stated, "I intend to encourage competition by offering licenses based on reasonable and non-discriminatory criteria, offering any competitor non exclusive use and have rejected all exclusive single entity licensing offers. The opportunity to engage competitively at reasonable and non-exclusive terms is a right previously denied to smaller providers due to exclusive agreements by the major manufactures and distributors." This patent will be available for license approval to manufacturers, distributors and retailers that supply wireless phone products to mobile communications operators.
Hop-on's technology covers the use of various rechargeable battery schemes for wireless phones which includes: USB enabled electrical outlets, interchangeable electrical plugs and polyvalent electrical adapters for different power sources. All manufacturers wishing to apply for licenses can proceed by application form, fax or email. The application form, universal charging essential patent list and further licensing information are also available by sending an email to contact@hop-on.com.
Hop-on's President/CEO Peter Michaels stated, "The same few companies continually monopolize negotiations prior to open market competition. I am confidant our revenues will be greater maximized than licensing to a single entity. We have the expectation of significant revenue streams from past, present and future royalties from this utility patent." For more information, visit http://www.hop-on.com.
