Hop-on to Deliver Cards to Over 100,000 Gamers
Daily Through OCR Google Android OS
IRVINE, CA, Dec 19, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX)
-- Hop-on Inc. (Pink Sheets:
HPNN) announced today the technology used when
they demo Live, Interactive Gaming in real time from
its Android OS phone where players can interact with
live dealers in real time. The demonstration will be
available during the CES 2009 Las Vegas show in
January.
Peter Michaels, President and CEO of Hop-on,
explained, "To keep the integrity of the game,
Hop-on will scan the players' cards through the
computer as they are dealt by the dealer and the
computer shows the player what card it is.
An image of the card is sent through Open Source
software and other platforms. The software reads the
card value, goes through our database and then it
enters the monetary denomination of the card.
"The device is a camera-based scanner which can snap
an image of a card in the blink of an eye, coupled
with a powerful OCR (Optical Character Recognition)
engine that can process the information from the
card. The hardware consists of a high resolution
CMOS digital camera encased in a small footprint
scanner that snaps an image of the card and
transfers it directly into our proprietary software.
After extracting the data the device can save and
share it in multiple formats providing maximum
flexibility and seamless integration into our
infrastructures.
"Once the image is instantly scanned it is delivered
to a particular player and that player gets a
picture of the card which shows up automatically in
their video streaming. The dealer will not know what
the card is until it's flipped over. In other words,
the player sees the dealer dealing the cards, and
then sees his cards appear in the live feed. Playing
in real time gives the player the experience and
atmosphere of playing in a real casino. The only
thing we can't deliver is the drink, but we'll
figure that out."
Michaels further stated, "Yesterday, I was playing
on a site that had over 150,000 players and over
7,500 tables. What percent would play for money? My
guess is 151,000. Hop-on will receive royalties from
the proceeds of the casino that ultimately will
increase shareholders equity. People can play for
fun, and money. The entertainment value is
priceless. This is the ultimate social network!"
